The City of Corinth lies on the heavily traveled Interstate 35 NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) trade corridor, conveniently located to both Dallas and Fort Worth. Downtown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth are within 45 minutes of Corinth, allowing access to major sporting events, concerts and other entertainment venues.
The IH-35E corridor through the City of Corinth has an Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) of over 100,000 vehicles. With many prime retail locations fronting the IH-35E corridor, this traffic creates a unique opportunity for businesses located along the interstate.
Several major arterials through Corinth are scheduled for upgrades in the coming years. FM 2499, which serves as a connection to DFW airport and the central Metroplex, will be extended across Lewisville Lake to FM 2181 (Swisher Rd.). The estimated starting construction date for FM 2499 is September of 2006. FM 2181 (Swisher Rd.) will be expanded to a six-lane divided roadway beginning in 2006. Interstate 35E expansion plans are to expand the facility from 4 mainlains to 6 mainlains to Shady Shores in 2006. These upgrades to existing facilities, as well as the addition of new roadways, will produce a favorable business climate in Corinth allowing better access to all businesses.
