Meadowview Neighborhood Meeting
Add to your calendar:
Topics that were discussed at the Meadowview neighborhood meeting with the City of Corinth Public Works Director on Tuesday, October 21.
-
Jabez provided a handout with QR Code to register for removal of resident’s back fence and tie in side fences to eliminate gap between. Eight residents are interested in the offer (took handout or scanned QR code).
-
Hollis residents concerned about new thru traffic and suggested: Speed bumps (against City ordinance) or roundabout at Hollis on edge of development. City discussed speed reader signs or possibly bulb outs when development complete.
-
Meadowview sidewalk implementation.
-
One resident mentioned that traffic (street layout) was designed properly to discourage people from cutting through development and their neighborhood. There is not a straight path between Lake Sharon and Hollis.
-
City will verify that the new development’s HOA documents include retaining wall and fence as HOA’s property and responsibility. Several residents concerned that they would be responsible for ½ cost to repair or replace.
-
City will follow-up with developer’s installation of wye Inlet or other protective measures this week before possible weekend rainstorms.
-
Developer update from this morning: backhoe support structure finished and back-filled yesterday. Removing top and forming up wye inlet today with goal of pouring it tomorrow.
-
-
Residents would prefer that development take place in stages versus all at once: i.e., disturb only 25% of the land at a time.
-
Discussed ATP with residents: no positive or negative feedback.
-
City will contact the Police Department to encourage extra patrols and speed checks on Meadowview. Residents concerned with safety of children on way to school particularly when development opens new road.
-
City will initiate a traffic study of Meadowview to investigate possible additions of crosswalks or other traffic control modifications for parking control and speeding.
-
City will remove on-street parking on Meadowview near intersections to improve visibility.
-
-
City will initiate a study by our engineering firms to verify pressure when water tower is not available due to upcoming maintenance.
-
City will investigate existing neighborhood drainage patterns and evaluate possible fixes ahead of roadway pavement and sidewalk replacement on Goodnight. The sidewalk and roadway are experiencing subsidence. Portions of sidewalk are heaving.
-
City will initiate engineering of roadway and possibility of geotechnical study
-
City will camera wastewater lines looking for leaks. Storm drain lines have already been reviewed with camera.
-
-
Discussed with resident about flooding that they are experiencing from Amherst development over last 8 years.
