Lead Service Line Inventory

Welcome to the City of Corinth's Lead Service Line Inventory Information page!

As part of our commitment to residents' safety and in compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) Lead and Copper Rule Revisions, we provide this page to help you easily access information about the materials used in the service lines connecting your home to the water supply.

Public Health & Safety

Corinth is committed to delivering safe water to our customers. Lead can get into water as it moves through customer-owned water service lines and household plumbing that may contain lead.

Service lines bring water into a home or building from Corinth's water main delivery pipe in the street. Homes built before 1987 may have lead solder connecting copper pipes in their plumbing. Faucets and fixtures made before 2014 do not meet today’s “lead-free” requirements.

Lead exposure can cause serious health problems for all age groups, especially pregnant people and young children.

Exposure to lead in drinking water can cause serious health effects in all age groups. Infants and children can have decreases in IQ and attention span. Lead exposure can lead to new learning and behavior problems or worsen existing learning and behavior problems. The children of women who are exposed to lead before or during pregnancy can have increased risk of these negative health effects. Adults can have increased risks of heart disease, high blood pressure, and kidney, or nervous system problems.

As shown above, inventory is for the service line from the water main to the meter (System-owned) and from the meter to the point of entry to the house (Customer-owned). This inventory does not show if the materials of the home's interior plumbing have lead or not.
