CORINTH, TX- The Commons at Agora is envisioned to be an iconic gathering space that will inform future mixed-use development on the surrounding properties to create a true downtown district, Agora while serving as a central hub for community activities, events, and festivals. This dynamic space will be defined by exciting shopping, dining, and living opportunities with a local flair. Drawing from its ancient Greek origins, Agora means “marketplace”, and this gathering space will re-imagine the meaning of marketplace by infusing an elevated, modern, Texas-twist that is distinctly Corinth. This specific project is to construct the infrastructure surrounding the park. Construciton of Agora Way, Main Street and the realignment of N. Corinth Street.

Status Updates
December 2023
Project is complete, but the roadways will remain closed to protect workers around the Agora Park area.
September 2023
DDM construction has met substantial completion on the roadways. The punch list includes Spectrum temporary poles, light poles, and vegetation in the area.
The City Manager has directed the Public Works Staff to install a temporary connection to I-35 from N Corinth St. This work is currently being engineered to ensure it meets traffic safety.
May 2023
DDM construction has installed about 50% of the concrete paving, 100% of the water, 100% of the wastewater & 95% of the drainage infrastructure. Turn lane construction on Corinth Parkway is complete. Awaiting further franchise utility relocations (CoServ, Oncor & Denton Municipal Electric). fine grading for roundabout & northern realignment of N. Corinth St is underway.
Upcoming heads up: In the near future, the contractor will shut down N. Corinth St at the rail road tracks for the construction of the realignment. The closure of N. Corinth St will hopefully last no more than 45 days. Once the work is complete in the area N. Corinth St will then be connected and detoured to Walton Dr. Ultimately the connection to Corinth Parkway will be complete. This will result in the closure of the rail road crossings for both N. Corinth St and Walton Dr.
February 2023
DDM Construction continues to work on grading for streets and box culverts for drainage. City Staff has continued weekly meetings with the streets contractor to discuss plans and status of construction completion.

December 2022
Construction has begun on the TOD Streets project for Agora Park. DDM Construction started on 9-29-22 by removing the existing concrete flume and headwall. The crew started forming up the storm boxes along North Corinth and Agora Way. They have been setting pre-cast storm boxes along North Corinth St up to Walton Drive.
September 2022
Plans are being finalized and we anticipate construction to begin on the Streets project in October.
August 2022
A pre-construction meeting was held with DDM Construction on August 15th, 2022.
July 2022
Received two bids. The project was awarded to DDM Construction early in July. Groundbreaking July 22, 2022.
May 2022
Received one incomplete bid. Scheduled to re-bid and receive bids on June 24th with anticipated Council Award July 2022.
April 2022
The City is currently going to bid for the TOD Streets Project. Anticipated award is April 2022.
