Protect Your People, Pets, Plants, and Pipes

In times of extreme weather, it's even more critical to check in on your family and friends, ensure your pets are safe and warm inside, cover and protect your plants, and winterize your pipes. Here are a few quick tips and best practices to keep in mind:

  • Bring pets inside
  • Open cabinet doors to keep pipes warm
  • Let indoor faucets drip at a slow, steady pace
  • Cover outdoor spigots with insulated covers or wrap securely
  • Cover exposed outside pipes
  • Drain and store water hoses
  • Turn off and drain your sprinklers
  • Cover outdoor plants and bring potted plants indoors
  • Clear your driveways and sidewalks in front of your home
