Downtown Corinth

Pursuant to the 2025 City of Corinth Comprehensive plan, the City is in the process of making a community gathering space that will be called Downtown Corinth. A key focus of this initiative is building public-private partnerships to support mixed-use developments that combine retail, residential, and community uses.

Investment in Downtown Corinth will create a unique and lively destination for both residents and visitors. It will generate jobs, increase tax revenue, enhance quality of life, and bring new energy to the city and surrounding neighborhoods. Community input has consistently emphasized the desire for a welcoming and bustling hub—one that offers diverse shopping, dining, entertainment, recreation, employment opportunities, and multi-generational housing. Together, these features will allow residents of all ages to thrive in a complete community while providing a central gathering place that also attracts visitors.

2024 Comprehensive Plan

Downtown Corinth is designed as a Trail-Oriented Development (TrOD), leveraging its location along the regional Denton Katy Trail. This connection links larger greenbelt systems, such as the Lake Ray Roberts Greenbelt, with local trails like the mountain biking network along Lynchburg Creek near City Hall. The new trailhead offers amenities that capture an untapped market, positioning Downtown Corinth as a regional destination for outdoor enthusiasts as well as residents seeking an active, engaging lifestyle.

North Corinth Street
North Corinth Street is envisioned as the Main Street of Downtown Corinth and serves as a critical corridor alongside Corinth Parkway and Walton Drive. Plans for the corridor include fostering public-private partnerships to redevelop vacant land, restriping the roadway to add on-street parking in place of the center turn lane, and requiring future developments to incorporate streetscape features such as street trees, wide sidewalks, and pedestrian amenities.

Corinth Parkway
Corinth Parkway serves as a gateway into Downtown and is already home to key destinations such as City Hall, Agora Park, a three-story office building, retail spaces, an assisted living center, and a preschool. Opportunities remain to develop vacant parcels with mixed-use buildings that feature ground-floor retail, while underutilized properties present potential for redevelopment. These projects would add walkable retail and services that align with the vision for a vibrant Downtown Corinth.

Old Highway 77/I-35E Corridor
Old Highway 77 remains largely undeveloped, with limited infrastructure such as curbs, gutters, and sidewalks. However, the corridor offers strong visibility from I-35E and the potential to improve connectivity and walkability to North Corinth Street and the rest of Downtown Corinth. As opportunities emerge, the City will work with property owners and developers to transform vacant or underutilized land into active, mixed-use projects that align with the vision for a walkable, vibrant downtown.

Completed Developments

Agora Park
Opened in June 2024, Agora Park is a catalyst project envisioned by City leaders as the central gathering space for Downtown Corinth. The park is already attracting thousands of residents and visitors alike for both programmed events and daily use.

Walton Ridge
Walton Ridge provides 164 single family homes on the east side of downtown Corinth, creating housing for approximately 450 residents. Located within a 5–10 minute walk of Agora Park and the greater downtown area, Walton Ridge marks an important step in Corinth’s efforts to promote urban living and support a vibrant, walkable city center.

Heyward Phase 1
Heyward Phase 1 is the first stage of a two-phase development introducing high-quality multi-family housing in the heart of Downtown Corinth. The first phase includes 236 residential units and will bring approximately 650 new residents to the area. By expanding downtown’s residential base, Heyward Phase 1 helps realize the City’s vision for a lively, connected urban core and provides built-in demand for nearby retail and amenities.

Developments Under Construction

The Brookman
Located on the northern end of North Corinth Street—a corridor envisioned as the future Main Street of Downtown Corinth—The Brookman spans 14 acres and will feature 121 modern townhomes in a connected, amenity-rich community. The development includes an amenity center, pool, and park, with space reserved on the southern corner of the site for future retail.

Approved, under construction soon

Murillo Market
Plans were recently approved for a residential community featuring 50 townhomes. Several units along North Corinth Street will be designed as live-work spaces, offering potential for ground-floor commercial uses. This development continues to grow the downtown residential base within walking distance of Agora Park, NCTC, and other upcoming projects.

The Belton
The Belton will introduce a four-story, 55+ active adult community with 196 multi-family homes along the south side of Corinth Parkway. Residents will enjoy private amenities including a pool, pickleball courts, and a dog park.

City Center
Located just north of Agora Park, City Center will be a mixed-use development that combines retail and residential in a walkable, vibrant setting. The project will feature 30,000 square feet of ground-floor retail with 300 residential homes above. Construction is anticipated to begin within the next six months.
