General Election

The City of Corinth General Election will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

General Election Application Information

Residents who wish to apply for the 2026 General Election are advised to carefully review the candidate letter. The letter contains important information and accompanying documents that applicants should read and familiarize themselves with prior to submitting an application. Please ensure that all materials are reviewed in their entirety, as they outline the requirements, responsibilities, and procedures related to the application process. Should you have questions after reviewing the information provided, please refer to the contact information included in the letter.

Candidate qualifications are as follows:

  • Shall be a qualified voter
  • Shall be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Shall have resided in the City for 12 months immediately preceding the election
  • Shall not be employed by the City
  • Shall meet all other eligibility requirements of the Texas Election Code

IMPORTANT DATES - MAY 2, 2026 GENERAL ELECTION

First day to file for a place on the ballot - Wednesday,  January 14, 2026

Last day to file for a place on the ballot - Friday, February 13, 2026

Last Day to register to vote - Thursday, April 2, 2026

Early Voting - Monday, April 20 - Tuesday, April 28, 2026

Last Day to accept an Application for Ballot by Mail - Monday, April 20, 2026

Election Day - Saturday, May 2, 2026

Voting Information

During Early Voting, residents may vote at any location within Denton County.

On Election Day, residents must vote at their assigned precinct. Precincts 2071, 2072, 2073, and 3160.
